Private Training

Individual work at your home, built around your dog's behavior and your household's routine.

What improves: Whatever is actually getting in your way, pulling on the leash, boundary issues, food or fear aggression, potty training, or a dog who cannot cope in a group.

Who it suits

Owners with a specific problem, a dog who needs individual attention, or a household that needs to be on the same page before joining a class.

Some dogs get looked at first

Some bite and guarding histories are reviewed before booking, because the first visit may need a different plan.

Have Scott look at your dog first.

Describe what your dog actually does. The lunging at the mail carrier. The food bowl you cannot walk past. The biting that has started to worry you. You get a straight answer about whether this is one-to-one work or a group class, what the first visit would cover, and what it costs. No charge to ask, and no commitment to book.

Free to ask. Nothing is charged, and asking does not hold a place.

If this sounds like your dog, say so. Two minutes, nothing charged, no place held. You get the dates, the venue and the full cost back before anything is due.

The walk changes first. Then everything after it.

All 3 of my dogs have been through Scott's training, and each time, I learned more. They are safe, well behaved, and have freedom because of Scott's training. It's a worthwhile investment with big returns. Highly recommend!

Before you decide.

Where are the classes held?

Outdoors at Vinland Park, 4695 E Gettysburg Ave, Fresno, CA 93726, in east Fresno. It is a normal neighborhood park, so there are other dogs, kids and joggers around. That is on purpose: a dog that only holds a sit in a quiet room has not learned a sit.

Is my dog suitable for a group class?

Most dogs are. Dogs with a bite history, guarding behavior, or serious aggression are reviewed by the trainer first. That is not a refusal, it is about whether a group class is the right place to start, and whether your dog would do better with private work first.

What methods do you use?

Training balances rewards, food, praise, affection, toys, with clear consequences for behavior you do not want, the way dogs correct each other in a pack. Classes are held in places with real distractions, other dogs, and other people, because that is where behavior actually has to hold. If you want to talk through the approach before booking, call and ask.

What happens if my dog needs reviewing first?

You send the details, the trainer reads them and contacts you directly to talk it through. A review request does not hold a class place and does not promise a particular outcome. You will not be asked to pay for a class seat while a review is still open.

Do I need an account to book?

No. You should not need to create an account simply to book a class or ask a question. Where a booking provider requires one, that trade-off will be stated before you start.
