Scott Streetman

Training dogs since 2008, in business for himself since 2010, in Fresno the whole time. He runs every class himself, at Vinland Park in east Fresno.

About the training

Classes are run by Scott himself rather than handed to an assistant, and the group course is deliberately small. Owners work their own dogs in the room, because a dog that only behaves for the person holding the leash has not learned something the household can use.

The approach is reward-based, with clear boundaries. Correction happens by removing a reward or blocking a behaviour, not by frightening the dog, and every exercise is one you are expected to repeat at home between classes. If your dog needs something different from what a group class can give, Scott will say so rather than sell you the seat.

Where classes happen.

Outdoors at Vinland Park in east Fresno. Dogs work on grass, with real distractions, which is the point.

Venue
Vinland Park
Address
4695 E Gettysburg Ave
Fresno, CA 93726
Parking
Free street parking on Gettysburg Ave alongside the park.

Vinland Park is an open neighborhood park, so there are other dogs, kids and joggers nearby. That is deliberate. A dog that only holds a sit in a quiet room has not learned a sit; a dog that holds one with a jogger going past has.

What this site does not claim

No certifications, awards or affiliations appear anywhere on this site, because none have been supplied with a source. Where a question touches aggression, guarding or a dog’s health, this site does not diagnose anything and makes no veterinary claims: those go to Scott for review, and where a vet is the right person to ask, that is what you will be told.

Client reviews are quoted from his Google Business Profile, exactly as written, under the names those reviewers use publicly. Nothing has been invented to fill the space, and none of the quotes has been edited.

Come and watch one.

You are welcome to walk the park during a class and see how it runs before you pay for anything.
